These shots are important because the establishing shot shows buildings and important scenery that the next shot is filmed in. The master shot shows a group of people and many features in the surroundings. The extreme close up is important because it shows little details in the scene that might be important for the rest of the movie, for example a weapon.

close up shot- to show facial expressions/emotions
extreme close up- eyes emotions or mouth etc, crying, important words
master shot- show a group of people, far away to show many features
full shot- show a full person
medium shot- to show a person from waist up
ots shot- to show a conversation between two people
mid close up- just to show face and shoulders
wide shot- show surroundings and people
These types of shots are the amount of people in a shot or how close up to them it is. For example, a medium two shot is a medium shot of two people having a conversation or argument etc. A low level shot is from the waist of the person, giving the effect of power on their behalf. A high level shot is the opposite and is filmed from above the person, giving the effect of weakness.
