shot types, angles

These shots are important because the establishing shot shows buildings and important scenery that the next shot is filmed in. The master shot shows a group of people and many features in the surroundings. The extreme close up is important because it shows little details in the scene that might be important for the rest of the movie, for example a weapon.

establishing shot- surroundings, far away or buildings

close up shot- to show facial expressions/emotions

extreme close up- eyes emotions or mouth etc, crying, important words

master shot- show a group of people, far away to show many features

full shot- show a full person

medium shot- to show a person from waist up

ots shot- to show a conversation between two people

mid close up- just to show face and shoulders

wide shot- show surroundings and people

These types of shots are the amount of people in a shot or how close up to them it is. For example, a medium two shot is a medium shot of two people having a conversation or argument etc. A low level shot is from the waist of the person, giving the effect of power on their behalf. A high level shot is the opposite and is filmed from above the person, giving the effect of weakness.

medium two shot- to show 2 characters conversation from the waist up

three medium shot- three peoples conversation/ argument

extreme close up- close up of a small detail/ object

low level shot- from wait down to show power

high level shot- to show no control/ weakness
